 Vel-Hi's Chocolate Chip

Hi, my name is Lynda Miller. I am the owner/operator of Velhi's Texas Connection Kennel, in Azle Texas, just outside of Ft. Worth, Texas. I have been around these boxers all my life.
My gt. aunt Velma Hiser had gotten a boxer and started a kennel in Grinnel, Iowa.  She was so overwhelmed with this breed that she wanted to have a show kennel of her own. To bred/handle and eventually became a judge, she did it all. She had bred to other boxer greats from other kennels and produce her own greats, many many champions in her line. This kennel was started in the 1920's. She started my love for this fine breed.
I was given a pup out of a champion breeding she did, named Vel-Hi's Chocolate Chip in 1985. I met a lady in 1987, named Kathi Schu. We became fast friends and eventually  partners in my kennel. She inturn started Texas Velhi Kennel in Mountain Home Texas about 80 miles west of San Antonio.
My passion for boxers go way back thruout my lifetime. I only hope myself and fellow partner can do half as good as Velma did. We would be honored and blessed. She was a very unique woman in her own right.I dedicate this site to Velma and the other old tyme kennel greats who promoted this breed and made them what they are today.
        BOXERS RULE OTHERS DROOL !!!!!

Boxers are unique dogs that live for their people. All they want out of life is to be loved, cared for, and be with their owners. Except we think we own them , we don't. They own us. They pick which one of the family they want as their's, no matter who brings them home for whom.

Vel-Hi's Chocolate Chip, lovingly called "Chip", was my first  boxer after I came to Texas, sent to me by Velma from Iowa. He started my kennel. He was out of CH. Anheiser Bud of Vaalida and Vel-Hi's Bright Gem, who is out of CH. Vel-Hi's Rocky Heritage and CH. Vel-Hi's Bright Promise.
Velma then sent me Chip's Dam, Gem. She had been bred to CH. Vel-Hi's Strike Up the Band. She had her litter, and I kept 2 female pups to begin my own breeding program.
These pups were Vel-Hi's East of Eden and Vel-Hi's Lace.
East of Eden was affectionly called Edie. She is Kathi's foundation sire Stroker's dam, when bred to my Chip. She was what we call a reverse brindle. Her and Chip had some very nice pups thru the years.
Chip was my buddy, dog soulmate,he protected me, loved me, went everywhere with me. He is at the rainbow bridge waiting for me with Edie, Lace.
